Itinerary
Welcome to the 10-Day Egypt Itinerary, a fast-paced yet immersive journey that captures the very soul of Egypt. In just ten days, you will stand before the Great Pyramids, sail the timeless Nile River between Aswan and Luxor, and wash off the desert dust in the turquoise waters of the Red Sea.
Your journey begins the moment you touch down at Cairo International Airport. A representative will be waiting for you before passport control to facilitate your visa and luggage procedures, ensuring you breeze through the formalities. You will then be transferred by a private, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can spend the evening relaxing by the Nile or enjoying a welcome dinner at the hotel, preparing for the history that awaits you tomorrow.
After a hearty breakfast, you will dive straight into ancient history. Your guide will take you to the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure dominate the skyline. You will have ample time to walk around these massive structures and take photos from the panoramic viewpoint. Descending to the valley, you will stand before the Great Sphinx, the legendary guardian with the body of a lion and the head of a king.
In the afternoon, you will head to the heart of downtown to visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square (or the Grand Egyptian Museum if fully open). Here, you will come face-to-face with the Golden Mask of Tutankhamun and thousands of artifacts that tell the story of Egypt’s glory. You will return to your hotel in the evening, with heads full of pharaohs and legends.
You will check out of your Cairo hotel early and transfer to the airport for a short flight to Aswan, the charming southern city known for its Nubian culture. Upon arrival, you will visit the High Dam, a modern engineering miracle, before taking a delightful motorboat ride to the Temple of Philae. This beautiful temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was rescued from the rising waters and moved to Agilkia Island.
After the tour, you will transfer to your 5-Star Nile Cruise, which will be your floating home for the next three nights. Enjoy lunch on board and spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps taking a traditional Felucca sailboat ride at sunset to see the Aswan botanical gardens. You will dine and sleep on board in Aswan.
This morning offers a choice. You can relax on the ship or take an optional early morning trip to Abu Simbel (by flight or convoy). Seeing the four colossal statues of Ramses II carved into the mountain is a highlight for many travelers.
By lunchtime, the cruise ship begins its journey north. As you sail, you will stop at Kom Ombo to visit the unique double temple dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. It is a rare architectural masterpiece overlooking the river. You will return to the ship to continue sailing toward Edfu while enjoying dinner and a traditional "Galabeya" party on board.
The day begins with a visit to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus. You will travel by horse carriage from the ship to the temple, which is considered the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt. Its walls are still intact, giving you a true feeling of the scale and grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture.
You will return to the ship and spend the afternoon sailing through the Esna Lock, a fascinating technical experience, before arriving in Luxor in the evening. Luxor is often called the "world's greatest open-air museum," and seeing the illuminated Luxor Temple from the deck (or visiting it if time permits) is a magical sight.
This is a big day of exploration. After breakfast and disembarkation, you will cross to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings. You will enter three of the royal tombs to see the brilliantly preserved colors and hieroglyphics. You will also visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, rising out of the desert cliffs, and the Colossi of Memnon.
Crossing back to the East Bank, you will explore the massive Karnak Temple Complex, a vast forest of pillars and obelisks built over centuries. In the afternoon, you will say goodbye to the Nile Valley and travel by private vehicle to Hurghada on the Red Sea (approximately 4 hours). You will check into your resort in time for dinner.
After the busy days of sightseeing, today is dedicated to pure relaxation. Hurghada is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and year-round sunshine. You can swim, sunbathe on the private beach, or enjoy the pool. Your stay is on a soft all-inclusive basis, so you can enjoy unlimited food and drinks throughout the day.
Today you have the option to join a boat trip to Giftun Island to snorkel among the world-famous coral reefs of the Red Sea. The underwater life here is vibrant and colorful, offering a stark contrast to the desert landscapes you saw earlier. Alternatively, you can stay at the resort, book a spa treatment, or explore the Hurghada Marina in the evening.
You will enjoy a final breakfast by the sea before transferring to Hurghada Airport for a one-hour flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will immerse yourself in the medieval charm of the city. You will visit Coptic Cairo to see the Hanging Church and Abu Serga Church. Afterwards, you will wander through the winding alleys of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, the perfect place to shop for souvenirs, spices, and copper crafts. You will check into your Cairo hotel for your final night.
Your 10-day Egyptian adventure concludes today. After breakfast, your representative will transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your final departure. You leave with a suitcase full of memories, having touched the stones of the pyramids and swum in the Red Sea.

Yes, absolutely. The visit to Abu Simbel is usually scheduled on Day 4. It requires an early start (around 4:00 AM) to join the convoy from Aswan, but you will be back on the ship by lunch. It is an optional add-on but highly recommended.
While both are comfortable, “Deluxe” or “Luxury” boats offer larger cabins, higher food quality, and better amenities (like a pool on the sundeck). We always recommend booking the highest category your budget allows for the best experience.
Cairo is generally very safe for tourists, especially in tourist-friendly areas like Zamalek, Downtown, or the Khan El Khalili area. However, it is a bustling city, so always stay aware of your surroundings and traffic.
